Passo Tonale

Passo Tonale is another of Italy’s highest ski resorts at 1880m. The resort offers incredible vistas of the area and above the Italian average for sunny days. Passo Tonale is regarded as snow sure skiing and its this that makes it an excellent choice for those that are worried about snow levels.

Our Snowkite centre is the first and only registered IKO centre in Italy, so if you're going to get totally qualified this is the place.

Divided into three zones, the snowkite camp is located at the plateau starting from the parking lot where you enter the school and this is also where you will see most of the snowkiting. Once on the plateau, you'll see its totally suitable for beginners.

The highest plateau is very similar to the one below, but to access it you have to climb a small slope. Addressed in the advanced course, the technique for making first ascents will be trained in, meaning you'll get to learn the full technique for getting around the mountain.

In terms of skiing and boarding, The resort is extremely suitable for beginners and intermediates. The black runs of which there are only a couple do exist and these are up on the glacier.

Typically an Italian resort, lots of locals will venture out on the piste and this is usually a good sign as it means if the natives like it, it must be pretty good.

The added benefit to this is that during the week, lifts are not busy, so there'll be no waiting in long queues, to get onto your required run. Overall Passo Tonale is perfect for Snow kiters and mixed groups of skiers and borders. And if you feeling really adventurous, why not try night skiing on the glacier.

For those that want to try snow kiting, Snowseeker are the first UK Tour Operator to offer this as part of our standard program. For those that want to try it, we can now offer snowkiting holidays in Switzerland, France and Italy.

For those that want to know more, snowkiting uses a kite to tow you on skis and snowboards using the force of the wind by kite to travel miles in total freedom. It’s important to remember that this sport will not always take place in the centre of a ski resort and in some cases you'll need to get a transfer or ski out to the appropriate area, however this is usually a matter of minutes to get to the snowkiting are and if transfers are required, we can organise this for you.

The schools we use have developed over the years with teaching methodologies and practices that enable all those who have an intermediate level of skiing or snowboarding. Very similar to Kitesurfing, you’ll just need a smaller kite, such as a foil or a 3 metre inflatable.

We do offer a selection of courses starting from taster sessions, right through to 2 days tuition and kite hire for the rest of the week.

Simply call or email us with what you think your requirements will be and we'll do the rest. With must lessons based on a course basis over a few days, some of our schools also offer trips out to kiting areas by quad bike and helicopter at very reasonable rates.
