Val D'isere

Named after the French Olympic ski champion, Jean Claude Killy, the Val D'isere and Tignes area has well over 300kms of skiing and along some of the worlds most incredible scenery.

Located in the Tarentaise area of the Savoie department in the Northern Alps,'The Espace Killy' is given to the combined ski areas of these two famous resorts.

With its close proximity to the mountains of the border with Italy, the snowfall is regarded as exceptional due to it receiving weather fronts from both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.

Because of this it receives some of the most remarkable snow coverage in Europe.

For beginners, two nursery areas are available - one in the centre of the resort and the other in La Daille at the bottom. These are easy to learn on, with wide slopes specifically for beginners.

Val D'isere has an excellent range of terrain for intermediates, and with 25 black runs to test yourself on, you'll get the chance to really develop your technique.

For those that like venturing off piste, it has a large amount of powder that you can explore and enjoy. Or alternatively, there is a snow park which is laid out in sections so that it appeals to all levels, with the jumps (kickers)grouped together depending on the skills and abilities required.

As for Apres ski, like all ski resorts there will be something for everybody, however it will be lively and this makes the resort perfect for groups or those that need to blow the cobwebs away.

Victors Bar which opens at 4pm each day has some great apres ski. You can enjoy an ice cold beer on the terrace and the bar gets busier as the sun drops and you can enjoy some of their delicious food before a DJ starts off with some 'choons' to party the night away.

For those of a quieter disposition head to Le Samovar Bar this has a large terrace where you can enjoy a vin chaud and soak up the last bit of sunshine and on bad weather days it makes it an excellent spot to disappear inside and park your self up by the cosy log fire.

If the skiing has worn you out, you can also be in charge of your own dog sled team and you can drive your husky dogs along forest paths.

There's so much to do in Val D'isere and this resort comes highly recommended by us at Snowseeker, especially for those that want a full week of off piste, on piste and Apres...

We at Snowseeker believe that to become the best, you learn from the best and we've lost count of the number of people who have foregone a lesson and are still catching that inside edge years later. So get your lessons booked up and get that inside edge issue nailed, spending less time on your backside and more time impressing your friends on the mountain.

Often you'll find that a year or two out of the game doesn't always help either and that's why we've put everything together in one easy package which means you get the best out of your Ski and Board trip and to elevate your technique, our comprehensive packages include all gear hire, lessons and lift pass.

Even if you're a beginner or a self taught 'thrower' down the mountain, there is a pack to suit everyone, at most levels of ability.
