La Rosiere

Very much a traditional resort, La Rosiere is located on the French and Italian border and the skiing is popular with snow kiters, families and first-timers. Divided into two areas, La Rosiere centre and Les Eucherts, they are connected by a bus ride and gorgeous floodlit alpine forest walk.

The ski area, linked to the resort of La Thuile, just over the Italian boarder gives you over 160km of pistes to bash and the chance to enjoy an Italian pizza for your lunch. La Rosiere, has a number of blue and green runs making this an ideal place for snow kiter beginners looking to build confidence and get up and going.

With a great selection of accommodation, La Rosiere is a very easy choice in deciding where to learn to snow kite. Mainly chalet style and self catering, the accommodations are perfect for a budget week away.

The centre of La Rosiere makes it a great place to join up with others and enjoy a nice lunch and to socialise. Along with piste-side restaurants which are ideal for a quick bite to eat with the rest of your group or family after a morning in kite school. The resort has a few bars, some with live music and the best choice would be Le Petit Danois, which often has a live band.

For those that want to try snow kiting, Snowseeker are the first UK Tour Operator to offer this as part of our standard program. For those that want to try it, we can now offer snowkiting holidays in Switzerland, France and Italy.

For those that want to know more, snowkiting uses a kite to tow you on skis and snowboards using the force of the wind by kite to travel miles in total freedom. It’s important to remember that this sport will not always take place in the centre of a ski resort and in some cases you'll need to get a transfer or ski out to the appropriate area, however this is usually a matter of minutes to get to the snowkiting are and if transfers are required, we can organise this for you.

The schools we use have developed over the years with teaching methodologies and practices that enable all those who have an intermediate level of skiing or snowboarding. Very similar to Kitesurfing, you’ll just need a smaller kite, such as a foil or a 3 metre inflatable.

We do offer a selection of courses starting from taster sessions, right through to 2 days tuition and kite hire for the rest of the week.

Simply call or email us with what you think your requirements will be and we'll do the rest. With must lessons based on a course basis over a few days, some of our schools also offer trips out to kiting areas by quad bike and helicopter at very reasonable rates.
